What 1 Billion Monthly Active Users on TikTok Means for Your Church

TikTok has just crossed over the 1 billion monthly active users threshold. They accomplished this in just 5 years (compared to 8 for Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat). It is safe to say that TikTok is the most popular social media network amongst Milennials and Gen Z. And, there are a lot of Gen Xers on it as well.

So what does this mean for you? How can you use TikTok for your Church or as a Digital Missionary? In this video, on the podcast and in the bullet points below, I outline 5 tips of how you can use TikTok.

Sermon Clips. Cut up a sermon on video and post different clips on TikTok encouraging people.

Share Stories. Our testimonies can be shared in 3 minutes and under (the time of a TikTok). Record them and share them on TikTok.

Share Fun Stuff. Not all your content has to be spiritual. Join in on a trend (as long as it’s appropriate) and have some fun making people laugh.

Mobilize Digital Missionaries. Mobilize people who love TikTok and understand it to use it to share God’s goodness and glory.

Like and Comment. Some of the best ways to engage people is like and comment on other peoples posts. That can hopefully start up a conversation that leads to spiritual conversations.
