10 Halloween Social Media Posts Your Church Can Do
Halloween is a tricky time of year for Churches. It’s an event that a lot of people participate in (82% of households with kids plan to participate in 2021). But it is an event that does not glorify God. This is the question that is often asked a lot during the month of October. What do you do with Halloween?
This post won’t help you answer that question. However, this will help you identify different ways that you can recognize what others are talking about and engage people both inside and outside your Church during this time of year.
Here are 10 Halloween social media posts your Church or Ministry can be posting this year:
Kids in a costumes. Little kids in costumes of lions, super heroes or other animals are always cute. Encourage people to post pictures of their kids in costumes. Make sure you specify you want appropriate costumes.
Parents in costumes as kids. We all have some old photos around the house. Ask adults to post pictures of themselves as kids in costumes. It could be a nice throwback.
Favorite costume growing up. Some people may not have pictures of themselves in costumes. But, you can encourage people to post what their favorite costume was growing up.
Staff dressed up. Have your Church staff dress up in appropriate type costumes and post them leading up to Halloween. It shows your fun side.
Favorite Candy Bar Part 1. Everyone has a favorite candy. Have them post their favorite candy bar.
Favorite Candy Bar Part 2. This post is where you have people pick their favorite candy bar out of a selection YOU provide. Have them all debate which is the best candy bar of those you picked out.
Fun Halloween Crafts. Show a fun craft kids do can at home with siblings and parents. You can show a picture of the end product and have the instructions on your website. That way families can check out your website and maybe even see something else your Church is offering.
Kid friendly Halloween Snacks. Just like making a craft, parents are often looking for fun things to do with kids. Providing some fun snacks they can make together can create a family bond. Bonus points if you can make these snacks HEALTHY!
Pumpkin Carving Tips or Ideas. There are lots of fun things you can do with pumpkins. Share some tips or ideas that families can use
Short devotionals about fear. This could be done in a variety of ways. You could post scripture and a short written devotional about it. Or, you could do a short video devotional to post and encourage people on how to overcome fear or what to do when you are afraid.
What your Church or ministry decides to do with Halloween is up to you and your stance on that day. But, you can use social media to encourage people and help them have fun during this season. These are just 10 Halloween social media posts that will help and hopefully spur on some other ideas as well.
