Making the most out of your situation
On Tuesday, my executive Pastor and I went out to Indy to visit 2 sports facilities that are also linked to churches to see how they do ministry with their sports/community centers. It was a great trip and gave us new networking partners to work with.
It was only suppose to be a 1 night, in and out trip. However, on the way back, we got stranded in Charlotte because we couldn’t fly into DC because of the severe weather. It was very frustrating but alas we made the most of it. In fact, I’m writing this blog post from the airport as we are waiting to leave.
Even though it was frustrating, we made the most out of this trip. I actually learned a thing or 2 new about my executive pastor. Had I not had this time or had I had a really poor attitude about being stuck away from my family, I probably wouldn’t have learned as much about him. We even had a lot of time to process some upcoming decisions about the nZone like we have. We used this time to our advantage.
In the same way, there are things that happen in life and ministry that are beyond our control and we are just stuck. What do you do when that happens? There are plenty of things you can do to be productive whether it is spending time with your family and enjoying that or using it as a ministry opportunity. So, my encouragement, as I sit in an airport writing this, is to make the most out of your situation, no matter where you are at or what you are doing.
If you have a comment about an experience that you had that you used as a personal or ministry opportunity, please share about how God used that in your life in some way.
