“Create a Learning Culture for Every Leader” Notes
Theses are the notes from the YouLead Labs session led by Terry Scalzitti (@tscalzitti) at the Orange Conference 2019.
1. Vision. You have to have vision. Ministries need vision. The problem is most leaders don’t Know-how or when to cast vision
Do you have a picture of what that looks like? Vision leaks…say it again.
Make it simple, paint the picture and keep saying it again and again.
2. Strategy. A vision needs strategy. A strategy is a plan of action with the end in mind.
Constantly review your strategy.
PROBLEM: Most leaders don’t review their strategy. Most leaders recycle other people’s strategy.
Tweak the strategy, do not recycle.
You can’t have an effective strategy without a vision.
3. Teams. You need to develop teams. Ministries needs teams.
PROBLEM: most leaders don’t know how to give Ministry away. If you are doing it all by yourself you are failing at ministry.
Your job is to give your ministry away. The problem is most of us look for renters not owners. Renters won’t buy in or be around for a long term.
If you want to create teams you give them vision and strategy. You want people who own it.
If you can’t give Ministry away is you either have a trust issue or ego issue. You need to empower teams and make them owners.
4. Training. You have to have an effective training strategy. All leaded need and desire training.
2 min training clips – 1 point and communicate vision and training.
PROBLEM: most leaders aren’t trained
You won’t have
5. Replace. You have to replace yourself. You have to learn to replace yourself. Healthy ministries grow.
PROBLEM: Most ministries never reach their potential
Vision + team + trains = burnout. You lack a strategy.
