Text messaging is one of the most common forms of communication in today’s digital world. There are so many different kinds of apps you can use other than your Phone’s preferred service. Facebook Messenger, Instagram Messenger, and WhatsApp are just a few. While these are popular messenger services, there are real concerns about security and data privacy. Enter Signal.
So what is it and why should you use it? Watch this video, listen to the podcast or read the bullet points below about the tech trends in 2021 to watch for.
Security is so important these days. As I mentioned in my Tech Trends for 2021 post, Cybersecurity is so important these days because more and more people are trying to hack into your privacy and get your data. Signal is an independent non-profit company which is a cross-platform encrypted messaging service. It is so secure because it is a privately owned company. It is not owned by any big tech company. It offers much of the same things as other text messaging apps do, just more secure.
For example, here is the data shared from each of these 4 popular text messaging apps.
As you look to use text messaging services for your ministry, I would highly recommend you to check out Signal and see how you like it. It’s a great and very secure text messaging service to use.
