Helping people discover God

The nZone is New Life Christian Church’s big 83,000 sq. foot facility that we are transforming from an old Budweiser Distribution Center into a Sports & Rec Facility that will be use to draw the community in so that we can draw them into coming to church on Sundays at New Life.  As you can see below, it has 2 wood basketball courts, 3 soccer fields, a cafe’ and a fitness center.  We are currently set for an early August opening.

As we are drawing near to opening, a big topic of discussion is how can we use this building and this space to so that people can discover God.  As you can see, with a building this big, there have been plenty of good discussions concerning this and it has been very helpful in narrowing what we can and cannot do.

With that in mind, I’d like to challenge you with this thought.  How you can use your space and your resources to help people discover God? Do not be tied to old things you have thought about before.  What new and different things could you do with the space you all currently have? Remember, there is no magic formula that can be used other than offering it before God to see where He leads you (if there was that magic formula, someone would have discovered by now).  Each community is different which means that in each community something may work there that would not work somewhere else.  That is the beauty of thinking outside the box.  We don’t always have to not “re-invent the wheel”. Sometimes it’s fun to reinvent the wheel and see how God blesses it.  Our nZone is not a new idea, but it is an idea that we have taken and adapted it to our community to best meet the needs of our community.

So right now, TAKE A MINUTE and think outside the box to see how you can help people discover God with the space and resources you currently have.  If you have a great idea (or semi-great :)), post it so we can all be encouraged and be praying for what you are doing.
