Monday Morning Debrief: Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day in America.  It is the day we remember all that people who have fought so hard and died for our freedom in the United States Armed Forces.  Without them sacrificing their lives for us, we may not be the free nation we are today.  I am thankful for their sacrifice for our country.

But just as we celebrate and honor the lives of those who have fallen for our freedom, maybe today or another day can be a day when we remember all those people who have died for our ability to hear about Christ as well.  Think about it, if we didn’t have the Peters, Stephens, Jim Elliots, Thomas Beckets or so many countless people, we may not have ever heard the gospel of Christ.  The sacrifice these people made was because they were sharing the great news of Christ to so many people.  They stood firm in their faith and ultimately were killed because of that.

So today let us also remember those who have fallen for the gospel of Christ.  AND let’s pray for those who are being persecuted in this day and age.
