Ways to get Parents Involved

Parental involvement in my student ministry has always been a hit or miss…usually a miss.  I communicated to them on a weekly basis, getting calendars of events to them but still many of them seem oblivious to what we are doing in our student ministry.  I’ve done surveys, promotion from the main church and parents meeting.  All of them seem to produce little interest or engagement.

That is why I’m curious, what have you found to be the best way to get parents involved in your ministry where not only do they know what is going on but are fully bought in that their tweens and teens should to be involved in what we are doing?

I would love to hear your experiences and feedback.

Ready…set…go…

Building relationships with parents has been HUGE for me and the ministers in my team!

I personally and strongly encourage them to call them during the week, email them, find out how they are doing in school, are their any concerns they are having with their students outside of church as well as in church. Show them that you are truly on their side and that you are in the battle for their students soul more than just the couple of hours you see them in church or small group.
