Ever do this with your Senior Pastor?

Ever have one of those days when you walk into a meeting with your Senior Pastor and totally bomb in your presentation of why a change needs to happen in your youth ministry?

I felt unprepared and unequipped to answer all his questions and that is just unacceptable.  I felt like an idiot.  In some ways this was a great conversation to have because the question I am having now is, “did I change for the right reasons or did I just react to low numbers and think something wasn’t working?”  I really hate it when I second guess myself after I am set on a change.

Lesson learned, always be prepared to answer what you are doing and why you are doing it.  And, don’t be waffling about it.  Or else, you may end up just like me, bombing in front of your Senior Pastor and looking like a buffoon doing it.

Anyone else have those sorts of experiences?  How did you recover?  Post a comment below so that we can all learn from each other and benefit from our very unfortunate experiences.
