The WORST Games of the Year

With the close of every year, there is always a “Best of…” list of some kind.  Best books, Best movies, Best new singers, etc. the list goes on and on.  The other day I saw this post about the 10 worst video game consoles of all time.  I know it’s not of 2013 but it made me reflect on not the best but the worst of things.  I know, it’s kind of morbid to think of bad things, but it really did make me think of some bad things I did this year.

So, to kick off this, I was wondering what was THE WORST GAME OF THE YEAR that you tried.  But here’s the deal.  Don’t just highlight the worst game of the year, also put why it was so bad and what is the lesson learned from playing that game.

For instance, the worst game of the year I tried out this year was Monkey in the Middle.

“What!?!  You played Monkey in the Middle with your youth group?  That game was outdated 20 years ago!”

I know, I know, it is an outdated game but for some reason I thought it could work.  What made it worse is that I tried to do it as a middle school vs. high school competition.  Might I say that this was a terrible decision!

It was bad because I didn’t take the effort into planning it.  In fact, if I had really planned it and thought it through, I probably never would have played it.  I just threw it together at the last minute and thought it could work with limited resources and planning put towards it.  Shame on me.

The lesson I learned was think through exactly what will happen, all the pros and cons of doing the game before trying to pull it off.
