Santa Jesus

This commercial caught my eye a few weeks ago and I’ve been trying find it on YouTube ever since.  What do you think of this commercial?

This commercial stuck out to me because of his “works” mentality that he has towards Santa.  If this fella can just help Santa and do good things for him, he will get what he really wants.  And, you know what, it works!  He gets the car!

The reason why it suck out to me is because I think we have a “works” mentality in regards to Jesus.  I know, I know, Jesus is about grace, not works (Ephesians 2:8 & 9), but do we really live in that grace?

I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I feel that way.  I think that if I just “do” the right things, He will bless me.  It become all about me doing things for Him, not resting in His grace and love.

I hope this Christmas season you are able to relax and rest in God’s grace and love for you knowing that He still loves you and nothing you do will ever change that.

Tom, thank you for sharing! I think you have a good point there. I feel that way as well. A lot.

That’s a very encouraging message “He still loves you and nothing you do will ever change that.” I struggle with believing that sometimes. It’s not so much that I don’t believe it, I just feel like I don’t deserve it.

Thanks Tina and I agree with you 100%. We live in a works culture where we have to earn everything. Thankfully, with God we don’t have to earn it.
