4 ways to promote your Ministry Event

Ministry has changed a lot over the years. One of the biggest changes that has happened has been the way we communicate.

Years ago all you had to make an announcement at church and have a simple flier with all the basic info and you were set to go.

But sorry, that isn’t gonna cut it anymore. You have to do more. So, here are 4 simple ways you can promote your event.

Fliers. You’ve got to go old school! Moms love them and people will grab and go them all the time. But it needs to be more than just information. You need to make it look appealing (as I’ll describe in point #3). Add some cool graphics so that when teens see it, they will be more enticed to go.

Facebook Events are a MUST. In this day and age, go where the people are…Facebook. Create an event and add all the info you need. The great thing I like about this is that you can personally “invite” people on Facebook to attend. This is more reliable than a flier because you know people are on Facebook and will likely see this invite.

Twitter and Instagram are both great…this is because tweens and teens are most likely here and seeing them. But, this is the key…just like with fliers you can’t just put info on it. You need to use great visual content apps like WordSwag.

Promo Video. Use great apps like iMovie and Splice to put images, video clips and informant all together for a short video promoting your event. It really is quiet easy to do this and is just a different way to promote your event.

What other ways have you used to promote your event? Share below or on social media using #ymsidekick so we can have a great discussion.
