How to get the Staff involved in the Social Media Strategy

Being the only one to do social media for your Church or Ministry can be overwhelming at times. That is why you need more people involved.

The good news, however, is that there are 3 specific actions you can take to get more involvement from the rest of your Staff in Social Media.

  1. Provide Staff with sample tweets/posts.  Not everyone on staff knows what to post on social media.  So help them out and provide them with a sample of tweets and posts each week.
  2. Commission each Department to be Advocates.  Things are happening all the time in ministry.  Why not enlist people in each department to be social media advocates and either send you stuff to post or post themselves on social media.
  3. Encourage everyone to share or retweet posts.  They may not be able post themselves but most everyone on staff is connected to social media in some form or another so encourage them to share what the “official” church/ministry site posts.

Three simple but effective ways for you to be including the church/ministry staff in your social media strategy. But there are probably more ways than just these 3.
