Seen and Heard at the DC Orange Tour Stop

Unknown-3Last week, our Church (New Life Christian Church) hosted the DC Orange Tour Stop. It was an amazing experience having the great people from Orange…and I really mean GREAT people come in and put on this mini-conference in less than 2 days.

So as I reflect on the experience, here are some of the things that I saw and heard at the DC Orange Tour Stop.

  1. People helping and serving each other. This includes the “big wigs”. It was great seeing the Orange crew come into our church building and work together as a team. And not only that but our team working together
  2. People who were approachable. Again, this includes the “big wigs”.  I saw the likes of Reggie Joiner and Jon Acuff with the “people” all the time, talking, making time to hear their stories. And same for all the session speakers. They were so approachable…which, just in case you haven’t been to a lot of other conferences, isn’t always the case. It was a great site to see.
  3. People networking.  Whether it is 2 people or 650 people together, networking happens.  It is so great to be with so many other family, children and student ministers who were talking to and learning from each other.  The Orange Tour is a great place to make connections and share stories.
  4. People plotting. This was my favorite thing. When the Orange Tour goes to different churches and towns people get to be exposed to different Churches and what they are doing. I saw so many people walk through our church with tons of ideas going through their head.  I heard them sharing with each other new ways to do church and reach people for Christ.  It was great to hear them plot. Plotting happens at the Orange Tour.

If the Orange Tour is coming to your area this year (find out here), seriously, make ever effort to go. Especially, if you missed the Orange Conference last April.
