3 Simple Social Media Starters to Increase Engagement

Starting your church or ministry off in social media can be overwhelming at times. What do you post and how often do you post are just two of the questions you might ask yourself. But ultimately, as a Social Media Director or Coordinator, you want to get engagement from those in your congregation.

As much of a desire engagement is for social media postings, it is not always easy to do, especially if you are just getting started in social media. That is why, in this video, are 3 simple things you can start off doing to get engagement.

  1. Ask Questions. In social media it is so easy to share information. But when you simply share the information you are eliciting any kind of response or engagement. You are just sharing information. Rather than doing that, share the information and ask a question that will spur people to respond.
  2. Share your Thoughts. Want to get people to engage with you on social media? Ask them to share their their thoughts on a particular subject or blog post.
  3. Hold a Contest. Sure it may sound gimmicky but it works. It is a simple way to get people to respond. There are a variety of contests you can hold so be creative. To make sure you do it right, here are some tips to help secure success.

Social media is an amazing tool churches and ministries can use to engage the community. However, if you aren’t careful, you can get in the rut of just sharing information. Don’t fall into the trap. Continue to fight and seek to find ways to engage your community. These outlined in this post are just 3 simple ones to get you started, but there are plenty more that you can do so don’t give up.
