3 Phygital Easter Events

Easter is a great opportunity to reach out to your community. However, up until 2020 a lot of those events centered around in person gatherings. Those are not bad, but things have changed so much. Now phygital events are fantastic ways for people to connect.

What is phygital? Phygital is where you blend online and in person experiences together. They have become particularly useful in 2020 and beyond with the coronavirus impacting peoples desire to go out with a large group of people. And now, with Easter on the horizon, phygital Easter events may the best opportunity for your Church or ministry to reach your community for Christ this Easter.

Here are 3 Phygital Easter Events you can do this year. Watch the video below, listen to the audio or read about the 3 events below.

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt –  This could be great for families or young adults. Strategically place Eggs (big eggs, not the tiny ones) around your community and let them find them. Incentivize it by giving away a big prize for the winner person/team. How can it be Phygital? While people will be hunting for these Eggs in person, create a Facebook Group specifically for this hunt. There you can drop clues to where the Eggs

Live Easter Surprise Trips – Surprise people at your Church with fun Easter goodie bags. In fact, bring 2 bags, one for their family and another for them to give to another neighbor or friend as a way to invite people to Easter services. How can it be Phygital? When you drop off the bags, do a live Facebook video of whoever is dropping it off. You can also post pictures of it on your Church’s social media accounts.

Pictures with the Easter Bunny – Just like pictures with Santa, have a time for families to come in and get FREE picture with the Easter bunny. How can it be Phygital? Do the actual picture with the bunny in person and then post all the pictures in a Facebook Group where people can vote for their favorite. You can also use a hashtag

These are just 3 phygital Easter events, but there are more you can do. The biggest thing is that in every one of these events it is key that you have a NEXT STEP for people to make. For instance, it could be having a QR code that links people to your Easter landing page. Whatever that is, taking people to a next step or follow up is so important. The more you can connect them there, the longer you can potentially connect them long term and into your Church community.
