The Monday Morning Debrief: Become who you were Called to be.

There are some movies that when I see them on T.V., I just love to sit and watch them. Now, with 4 little girls running around it is hard to find some quiet time to watch it completely. But, none-the-less, while I was flipping channels I found Lord of the Rings: Return of the King on TNT a few weeks ago. I really love this movie.

This clip below is something that I caught that I forgot about. It is probably one of the momentum changing events that happened in the movie. Check it out.

What I love about this clip is when Elrond say to Aragorn “Put aside the Ranger. Become who you were born to be.”  In case you didn’t know about the Lord of the Rings trilogy, one of the storylines involves a “dead beat” Ranger named Aragorn who becomes the King to restore order to Middle Earth.  In this scene Elrond challenges Aragorn when all seems lost and the battle seems over to put aside his old self and become the new King that he was called to be.

In the same way, at the beginning of each year, we have an opportunity to make changes in our lives so that we can become more effective and better people.  So in 2011, what do you need to put aside so that you can be who you were born to be?  What changes need to happen in your life and your ministry’s life for them to be more effective for Christ?

Don’t let another year go by without making the changes in your life and ministry to become who you were called to be by God.  TAKE A MINUTE or a few hours and examine your life, your ministry and set some specific goals to become better.  If you need any help, post a comment or even contact me via email.

Happy New Year and may God bless you even more this year.
